Never really noticed this, but pretty crazy the Orioles now have 3 of the 6 players involved in this Arizona-Seattle trade.
Arizona Diamondbacks traded RF Mark Trumbo and LHP Vidal Nuno to Seattle Mariners for C Welington Castillo, RHP Dominic Leone, RF Gabriel Guerrero and SS Jack Reinheimer.

Never really noticed this, but pretty crazy the Orioles now have 3 of the 6 players involved in this Arizona-Seattle trade.

From what I've read in the Post, Wieters is having way more trouble than he should actually catching pitches.
From Boswell's chat this past Monday:
When do we get officially alarmed over the number of pitches Matt Wieters is unable to catch or block? Is this simply a matter of his getting used to a new pitching staff?
A: Thomas BoswellIt's amazing. It's as if he has, previously, been unacquainted with projectiles in motion. I've never seen a catcher, even bad catchers, butcher as many balls that should have been caught or blocked in one week. We've all seen his whole career in Baltimore so we know this is not a chronic problem. Or it hasn't been. He's been awful. And getting used to a new staff is no excuse. He knows it. After he couldn't even "box and crate 'em" in one Scherzer start. They all just went straight to the backstop. Max tried to take some blame. Wieters was embarrassed and said "No, those were all on ME." He's a stand-up guy. He'll get it fixed. But good Lord...

Yeah well Castillo is a past ball machine himself

Orioles placed C Welington Castillo on the 10-day disabled list with shoulder tendinitis.
Castillo has been experiencing soreness around his neck and shoulder, so the Orioles sent him for an MRI on Tuesday morning. It mostly revealed good news -- no structural damage -- but Castillo is going to be out for at least a couple of weeks to let the tendinitis subside. Caleb Joseph is starting at catcher for the O's on Tuesday night. Francisco Pena has been recalled to back him up. May 2 - 5:48 PM

One more reason to hate the WBC. It adds zero value to baseball given the timing of it.

Buck said Welington Castillo threw to bases in Bowie today and it went well. Is DHing both games tonight. Expected to join team in Det.

Heard this last night. On the one year anniversary of Caleb having the same injury. Weird.
