Ravens got a ton of hype too coming off the Miami win.

Yup...media likes to catch the peaking at the right time narrative even when it may not be true. Ravens defintiely looked like it was something they could build on, but it was obviously something Miami specific they exploited.

Though I could totally see the Ravens squeak this game out, get a ton of hype again and then blow it on the road in Cinci next week.

You almost expect that.

The goddamn schedule makers, man. They really love putting us on the road to end the season, and this Week 17 @ CIN needs to stop.

I realize you end up playing the same games regardless of when they're played, but honestly it's kind of lame that the Steelers get us at home and then the Browns at home with playoffs on the line, while we have to travel.

This is all true but if you don't lose winnable games earlier in the year than none of this matters.

Yep. Beat the goddamned Jets and week 17 doesn't matter if we win next week.

I hear you. It's not the schedule makers fault we blew games early.

I'm probably just wearing Purple Glasses but not sure I can remember the last time a division rival came to Baltimore late in the year with the division on the line. Seems like we're always traveling late when the stakes are high.

It really is crazy with Week 17 @ CIN.

We have ended the season in Cincinnati in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016.

So 5 of the last 6 seasons, the other game being vs. Cleveland.

Well we have to play a divisional opponent week 17. They prolly don't want Ravens Pitt in a week 17 game (more likely to be meaningless) so it's Cincy or Cleveland.

The fact it's always on the road is odd.

We closed out 2014 vs CLE at home.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

So do we have to win both weeks or just one?

Ugh, that's not a simple answer  :P .

It'd be best to win both it seems.

Yeah, there are too any possibilities. Biggest non-division factor is rooting against the Dolphins, it seems.

This is a good read for football junkies that want to talk about plays, etc. What's interesting is how Foxworth references the high low routes and build off of them (leaving aside my point from another thread that the Ravens need to have some form of a strength they go to that teams have to stop and then build off of it).

It's interesting that the Ravens always seem to be able to slow the Steelers attack down. If this principle is one they've perfected how to defend and force Ben into tighter windows or out of his comfort zone of easy reads that's good for the Ravens.

I'll certainly be watching for this a bit more closely and wonder if we saw anythign on the Bengals tape that also helped us here. Though I'm sure any principles from Lewis on defending this approach still linger on this team too already.

I'm obviously not a huge fan of Harrison personally, but man this guy is something else...also a good read here.

Can you imagine getting caught between a Steve Smith / James Harrison melee. Could anyone / would anyone even break that up?

Either way, apparently MMQB is doing a full Steelers / Ravens Rivalry week of articles so worth keeping an eye on too.

Win both  so you get the division and the home playoff game.

Pitt up to 3rd in DVOA..Ravens are 10th.

ESPN FPI gives the Ravens no better than a 35% chance to win either of their remaining games.

Do you remember Ravens DVOA from last week, is this up or down? I'm interested because DVOA would think the turnovers were flukey, but the regression in the run defense stats might have stung pretty hard.
