Was Williams even good under him. He regressed in '23 no?? The most disturbing news I read recently was the new owner nixed Ben Johnson because he didnt want to pay him. Just a horrible first impression. Well I guess the first impression was being drunk on air during a preseason game. So we will go with 2nd impression.
Not sure that’s a good thing. The film guys hated his passing offense in Arizona. Washington may be trying to get Caleb somehow though, will be interesting.

He still had a great year but yeah, he was better before Cliff. Kingsbury just isn’t good. But maybe Caleb likes him? Not sure. Was Williams even good under him. He regressed in '23 no?? I thought Ben Johnson proactively turned Washington down and told the Lions on the plane ride home he wanted to stay? Interesting if that was really why.

Yeah maybe it was Johnsons decision but I had read the owner didnt want to give him the cash. Maybe Johnson asked for too much on purpose. I have read that some think he doesnt want to be a HC. But still the Commies held out for a long time seemingly waiting solely on him. They offered MacDonald the job eventually but he chose Sea. Which was probably smart. Even though Was is about to get either Williams or Maye.He still had a great year but yeah, he was better before Cliff. Kingsbury just isn’t good. But maybe Caleb likes him? Not sure.

Yup. Everyone thinks this SF guy is some genius and maybe someone over his head interfered but this whole situation was botched. They committed to Johnson too hard and long. Kinda obvious
I think the panicked on Quinn. Local media trying to spin it but man, I just can’t. It’s a super bad decision given they’re about to take a QB. Kingsbury would only confound that. And with the new GM being the one allegedly solely in charge of this process now, that would be enough to have me officially worried about that guy right out of the gate.
Then coulda saved it maybe by making MacDonald say no. Maybr MacDonald always preferred Sea but I fully believe that guy is gonna be a real good HC

This one is a done deal. And once again all FBS head coaching positions are filled (for now).

Ryan Day was Kelly's QB at New Hampshire, so the two go way back.
He had just interviewed for the OC job in Seattle, and thought he preferred to go back to the NFL, but I guess more than anything he wanted out of UCLA ASAP. I don't imagine Day will make him do that much recruiting, which was never Chip's strength to begin with.

As a LA native and UCLA lifer who had been with the program the previous 7 seasons, Foster makes a ton of sense.
He walks into a tough situation though, with a team that has been largely gutted by regular attrition plus the portal, lost a successful DC to their crosstown rival, working under an athletic department that's drowning in red ink, and an administration/fanbase that's largely apathetic. Their entry into the Big Ten might energize things a bit, and if nothing else they will probably sell a lot of tickets to visiting fans that want to see their team play in the Rose Bowl.

And we have another seat on the carousel open. Georgia State HC Shawn Elliott is stepping down to return to S Carolina as the TE coach and run game coordinator. It sounds like it was a family decision, as his family had stayed in Columbia after his previous stint with SC.
