And I've got nothing against him... He is a fine player but I just can't believe guys like him command that much money. I'll shut up about it. NBAPA has got it good!

The numbers are such a jump, it really does grab you every time you see a new contract come out.

Barnes is a good role player. He's inconsistent though and to give him that kind of money is pretty crazy IMO. His name is bigger than his game.

Says the Dookie. You didn't have any comments when Deng got overpaid the other day...

Barnes almost went to Duke(being a bitter fan is a MD thing anyway)..I don't give 2 shits where he played. I can see his stats.

And Deng got overpaid too.

I can see wanting to keep Barnes even at that price, but if it keeps them from matching an offer to Ezeli it might not be a wise move. Barnes is obviously the better player, but with an aging and injury prone Bogut, Ezeli might be the more important piece.

Cole Aldrich gets 3 years/$22 million from Minnesota. Makes that Mozgov deal look even more like an overpay.

They drafted a 7' center in the first round. Maybe they feel he can be a better piece?

Would you rather the owners get the money? The players are getting the same share of the revenue as they have in recent years, it's just that the revenue has gone up a lot.

it is good seeing the money go to the players.

I just wish they could figure out how to distribute it better.

The top top guys should be getting way more than the Conley's of the world.

That would require the elimination of "max" contracts.

Right...but I also think it's good that the current team can offer these guys more money. Gives them incentive to stay. Has to be a happy median there somewhere.

In this market, that's a steal.

Clippers bringing back Crawford and Rivers..obviously feel they are out of Durant running.

So, their plan is to essentially return the same team as last year..which will be out in the second round of the playoffs...at best. Quite a good plan there!

That seems shockingly low to me.

Good point Weber. Not really sure why it bothers me or that it even does bother me. But it certainly has been truly jaw dropping to see mediocrity get paid like super stars. You've got HOF lineman in the NFL who don't make in their careers what some pretty okay but not great talent has gotten paid this week. To be clear, not really trying to compare the two, I realize it's apples to oranges. But still, it's just crazy to me.

Doesn't bother me to see the players get paid at all. They're probably getting less than they should as it is. But when you see a one-time  jump in the cap like this, and mediocre players getting paid more than guys much better than them for no other reason than lucky timing, then it does feel like something is wrong. But I don't know how you change it, which means you probably shouldn't.

I agree that the very best players should get paid more than Mike Conley and the like.

So, the Warriors may be pretty good next year, huh.
