Good thread. I used to be into racing when I was little, don't know nearly as much about it these days. However, I still like the sight and performance of a fine vehicle - racing or touring, doesn't matter.

Ferrari has some pretty sweet rides coming out in an homage of their 70th anniversary. 350 special edition vehicles. 5 Different vehicles painted in 70 different liveries each. Now they've only shown a few so far, and as an F1 fan I feel like I should say the Schumacher is my favorite, but I can't. There's something about "The Green Jewel" that I absolutely love. I know it's not a traditional Ferrari color, but it just looks awesome. The gold wheels look really good with the green paint.

I feel the other way around on that one. The Schumacher edges out Green Jewel for me, primarily because the Green Jewel's shade of wheel doesn't do it for me. The paint color goes well with that particular car. I really like the front of The McQueen; I wish there were a picture with less reflections from the room on the rest of it. Would be interesting to see more of that camel leather as well.

A Texas chicken farmer and some California hot-rodders decided they'd take the World Championship away from Ferrari... so they made this thing in a metal storage building... and won...

The most interesting car company you never heard of, Tatra, just might be back in the car bidness... sort of...
https://blog.hemming...eum/?refer=news
Tatra is a Czech company. Before WW2, the brains behind Tatra, Hans Ledwinka, invented all manner of car stuff... among them, he designed a "peoples car" that they never put in production... but it heavily influenced both Hitler and Ferdinand Porsche's design of the VW Beetle... the original pre-VW-Beetle Tatra 570 looked like this:
Porsche said that the 2 worked together on the Bug... but nobody listened to Dr. Porsche about that, so he gets all the credit for the Bug anyway... in part because, soon after Tatra sued VW about it, Germany invaded Czechoslovakia, which kinda put an end to the lawsuit until after the war... eventually VW ended up paying Tatra a 7-figure award...
What Tatra and Ledwinka are most famous for is the late-1930's Tatra 77 and 87 models... these were known as "Nazi killers" because Nazi officers commandeered them for personal use and then killed themselves on the autobahn because they didn't know how to properly drive a high-speed rear-engined car... so they eventually got banned by the High Command from driving the things...
However, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel used one whenever he was in Europe... (he used another Czech car, a Skoda, as his command car when he was in the desert...)
Anyway, they're about to put the post-war model 600 back into production as a "continuation car"... the same thing but updated with modern components... available in 3-5 years for about $100K...
