I hear ya. I just don't think I'd put Norris in the category of having a lucky year, or even just inconsistent. He was pretty consistent until the wheels came off in 2015.

 

I'm not sure I'd agree with that. He was never terrible, but he certainly struggled in 2010 and 2012. His FIP perhaps was consistent each year if that's the argument you want to make.

 

Here's the thing. There have been 1,052 pitchers since 2000 to pitch in three full seasons and then throw at least 75 innings in season 4. 82 of them had an ERA at least one and a half points lower in season 4 than in season 3. That's good for nearly 8%. Given how drastic the difference between a 4 and 5.50 ERA is, that certainly says something.

Norris' problem is he gives up too many baserunners, too many homers and is a moron out there.

 

I do agree that I would prefer him here vs Fister though...I prefer him to Gallardo, with or without the pick.
