Re: GT...
Last year, the huge problem was an almost entirely new batch of RB's... PJ doesn't need great RB's, but he does need them to know how to block well... and except for the occasional FB, no RB arrives at GT being as competent at blocking as he needs them to be... last year, we saw the direct and indirect consequences of that, because he didn't have a year to let the newbies learn in practice, he had to throw them right in ... the direct consequences were plain to see... the indirect consequences were that both the QB and the OL tried too hard to compensate for it, which caused both to do an inferior job... there was no way to stop any of that...
I hope to see the RB's do better this year, simply because they're way better prepared now, just by experience... if they do, then I expect PJ's offense to return to the kind of gaudy performance that we saw the year before last...

Lots of media people seem to think last year was the real-GT and the year before was a flash in the pan.... I don't think so, but there's lots of stuff about football talent that I don't know... in any case, we'll see....

Keep an eye on the BSU - WSU game in week 2. IF BSU develops their defense they could make some noise this season. WSU will be a stout test for the D backs. If we can put pressure on the QB it could be a really great game. If not....could turn into a shootout. Both teams have really really good passing attacks.
