“Rogue One” is the opening installment in the “Star Wars Anthology” series. Those who saw the original 1977 “Star Wars” will remember the stolen plans for the evil Galactic Empire’s super-weapon, the Death Star, and “Rogue One” tells the story of the rebels who steal them.

Yes... believe there is also supposed to be a Boba Fett movie in '18.

Actually it's the Han Solo origin story in 2018. Boba Fett movie is rumored to come in 2020 or later. Their plan is to have a new Star Wars themed movie every year for the rest of time.

I'm excited for Rogue One. Good cast and the director of the new Godzilla. Hope most of these stand alones go in this direction rather than prequels of old characters like Yoda. At least with Boba Fett they could finally give people a reason to like him.

I think they'll eventually slow down so there's not one coming out every year. I don't see how they can keep the factory pumping them out so quickly and efficiently.

That said, Rogue One sounds cool...I'll be there!

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Outside of character design and presumed backstory what is really there? He barely has any screen time and dies because Han blindly bumped into him causing his jetpack to send him into the sarlacc pit.

Bad ass bounty hunter who's feared through out the galaxy. Works for a ruthless Mercenary (Jaba) the Hutt. Tracks and helps capture noted rebel Han Solo. Doesn't take any crap from Vader "He's no good to me dead" what more do you need. And don't tell me he's a goner, everybody knows that he survives the sarlac pit. What more do you need!?

Haha well I think that's about as good of a defense as there can be.

But some character development would be nice. And that's why I'm interested in him getting his own movie.

Minor quibble.

That's two movies now with a female protagonist with a pretty similar origin to Luke. Orphaned at a young age, survives on their own, becomes the center of a massive rebellion.

Not that it really matters, but it is noticeably redundant.

I also have no doubt Ben Mendelsohn will totally own this movie.

Is Mendelsohn's character supposed to be Tarkin from the original movie? That guy was crazy good in Bloodline on Netflix. He could very well steal the show here.

Is that the dude in white? Definitely not Tarkin. I believe the timeline is too close to Episode IV for the character to look that young, and he's wearing a Grand Admiral's uniform, not a Moff's.
