Can we package Trumbo and a mid prospect to Siberia? There must be a way to get rid of this guy.

Why in the ever loving fuck would you give away prospects to get rid of salary?  The team's payroll is insanely low.  There is no need to give away talent to lower it even further.  The team should be doing the exact opposite, taking on other team's terrible contracts as long as they also give us a solid prospect for our troubles.

Releasing Trumbo and eating the money is a reasonable suggestion.  Packaging one of our top-15 prospects to get rid of him is as terrible of an idea as it is humanly possible to suggest.

60-day IL for Trumbo,

Wow. Did he come back too early this Spring and get impacted?

I read that the recovery time is typically 8-12 months, and it's only been a little more than 6.  Not sure why he was playing this spring, although they would take him out of the game any time he got on base.

"... and if anyone ever hits you with a pie, make sure you ruin the team chemistry instead of laughing at yourself.  Wait, is that a kid on my lawn????"

Mark Trumbo said he isn’t hitting yet, only throwing. He added that he is enjoying answering questions for the Orioles’ young minor leaguers at extended spring training.

Starting a rehab assignment with AA Bowie tomorrow.

Probably going to play the full 20 games before re-evaluating the knee.

It sounds like they're expecting him to return to the team in a week-ish. I assume he was only retained because of the possibility that he could be a valuable trade chip. Assuming he returns as expected, he'd have 7 weeks to get into mid-season form and prove himself a worthy piece for a contending team. That all seems like a loooong shot.

Good news! I saw a dog today.

I could see a team wanting him as a RH bat off the bench.  I don't think we will get much for him,  but trading him, probably saves a million or 2 in payroll.

It's a shame he couldn't stay off the DL. He's a low key guy, and he obviously works hard. It's kind of disappointing to think that he is possibly reduced to a bench role for a contending team.

Yea, he seemed to be taking a leadership role in ST but the knee injury was serious.

Trumbo has PRP injection in knee today. Shut down 7-10 days #orioles

Soreness in knee is in new spot. Trumbo eventually can begin new rehab assignment #orioles

Hyde: “I give Mark so much credit. Mark’s had a really good career and to try to come back from something like this and try to push the envelope to try to get back on the field and play says a lot about him. He’s a high-character guy and it’s great seeing him here." #orioles

Lol, the O's were 1.5 games out of the wild card when Trumbo got pied / pies were immediately outlawed, and they're 73-187 since.  I guess lots of people had been telling Trumbo that he cursed the team or something, and he wanted to set the record straight.

Here comes the cavalry!

Mark Trumbo resumed baseball activities recently, taking on field batting practice this weekend. There are no immediate plans for him to begin another rehab assignment, but the Orioles remain hopeful he’ll return at some point.
