A true legend. His quotes and anecdotes were amazingly colorful, but even if he were a boring dude this speaks for itself:

It's a page I've looked at a number of times in astonishment. New York benefits or whatever; he was a winner with incredible skill and immeasurable charm. Both of my grandfathers, very different men from Connecticut and from Pittsburgh, liked telling me about him.

Sad day.

Definitely an all-time great player and an all-time great personality.

I guess Koufax's case for the Mount Rushmore of living players just got better. :D

He lived a long, full life. May we all be so lucky.

RIP to a legend.

Looking at his Baseball Reference page, he had seven consecutive years where he finished no worse than fourth in the AL MVP voting, winning it three times.  Amazing.

Nobody goes to Heaven anymore. It's too crowded.

Yogi became so well-known for his colloquialisms and his personality off the field, I think it was easy for many people, especially younger ones, to forget how good a player he actually was. It's always a shame to lose someone, even living as full a life as he did. Interestingly, he passed away on the 69th anniversary of his major league debut.
