This is pretty awesome.  I think that there's a good chance Baltimore gets at least one game.

This sounds like a big deal. This is essentially the two America confederations playing one tournament, right?

The following stadiums have been suggested for the tournament. Listed are the stadiums, their capacity, and the metropolitan area.[11]

Yea, it's like a mini UEFA Euro Cup.

No way do I think they'd put it at RFK.  That place is falling apart and inhabited by countless raccoons.  The only thing it has going for it is easy metro access.  If there's a DC-game, it'll be at Raljon.

RFK doesn't seat 60k, they took out the endzone seating when the Nats came. That centennial game last year got 47k and that was with temporary seats. They probably go to "Raljon" like Markus said.

I'm guessing they'd consider Chicago and they'd play at the 9ers new place instead of Stanford.

Blink: US forward Jozy Altidore appears certain to miss Copa America following another hamstring injury

Disappointing. He hasn't been doing much in MLS so far this year, but he regularly makes an impact with the National team when he's actually on the field.

Disappointing. He hasn't been doing much in MLS so far this year, but he regularly makes an impact with the National team when he's actually on the field.

You really have to look closely at Altidore's body of work to judge his value to the MNT.

First the positives:

1. He is our best hold up forward. And its not even close. He is physcially very difficult to handle.

2. He has a strong work ethic WHEN he applies it.

Now the negatives:

1. He is very very erratic as to which Jozy will show up. He is kind of like Ubaldo Jimenez (although his down games aren't THAT bad).

2. He is very injury prone. Soccer is a very demanding physical sport. The problem is that when Klinsy plan is to play with a target forward and he subequently gets hurt (WC 2014) then the team dynamics (personnel and tactics) fall apart. This is as much on Klnsy for his poor player selection.

and lastly the biggie.

3. His goals almost all come against the weak CONCACAF teams. In games that count (Qualifying, Tourneys like Gold Cup, and the WC) he has played in 45 matches and scored 15 goals. That is not too bad. But here is where you have to look deeper. Of those 15 goals 13 of them were scored against CONCACAF teams NOT named Mexico, Costa Rica, or the Honduras. He has only scored two goals (Spain and Honduras) against quality teams during his 9 years on the MNT.

Now certainly the majority of the 45 competitive games came against weaker opposition but still we did play 22 games against quality teams in that time frame and he only scored twice. That is not cutting it at this level.

Be that as it may the real question now becomes who does Klinsy start and what formation does he go to?  I am hoping to see him give Wood, Morris, and Pulisic a lot of time on the pitch. They are the ones we need for WC 2018. Personally I would slot Morris and Deuce up top and put Pulisic out wide and use Wood in reserve for Deuce. I would LOVE to see Pulisic out wide with Yedlin behind him.
