Let's get some quick hitters, slants, maybe a bubble screen....do some things to get the ball in Smith Sr or Campanaro's hands early and let them make YAC.

I agree. This has been a problem at least since 2008. Last year was better. Trestman didnt change the playbook, and it was Kubiaks, so the oppsing head coach knows whats in our book. Possibly the Ravens over thought things and tried to trick him.

If the Ravens offense has struggles this week, and we dont see these things you mentioned, it will be cause for major concern.

I remember the one play action boot we ran an the DL who had Joe as a responsibility and he was waiting for it. I do think there is a chance they were concerned about Kubiak knowing what they were doing. On the other hand, on the Talib Int he said he jumped that route because we had done it multiple times in preseason and he knew it was coming. Any kind of study of tendencies help a defense. I worry about the lack of adjustments in game going forward. It was ridiculous not to give Hurst and Wagner help though they did keep a RB in at times to help. I said it before, all those sacks Cutler took in Chi weren't on him and his OL.

Again, I'd like to see more snaps from under C. Joe is lazier out of the shotgun with his footwork. He sets up and still has a tendency to drop further and or not step into throws. Passes from under center he is better at getting to the top of his drop and getting the ball out and on time with good footwork. That's the one thing Cam had right and Kubiak proved it last year. I know Joe is more comfortable out of the gun but Joe lost his ability to call his own game during the '13 season. Not that he still can't do it at times, but he's not consistent enough on a week to week basis.

Nickle is on the money about Joe's footwork. He gets slow at times and that's probably been his biggest issue throughout his career. Watching him work last year under Kubiak was fantastic; it was 1-2-3-ball was out, 1-2-3-4-5-ball was out.

If Joe is going to be in the shotgun, it works better when he's in no huddle/hurry up mode. There were a couple of games in 2011 (@ Pittsburgh and the comeback vs Arizona at home come to mind) where Flacco worked a lot of shotgun and was masterful.

Joe has always been better when he was able to think less and just go play. The Minnesota game was another example of this.

Jernigan and LT will play on Sunday.

Too bad Monroe is out. Hopefully him and Perriman will be back for Cinci...cause if they can't play against Cinci, will they really be able to play 4 days later in Pitt?

Was having a twitter conversation with Zrebiec last night about moving guys around on the line.

He made a few points:

1) They don't want to do too much moving around this early in the season.

2) Feels Hurst isn't going to be any worse at Lt than Wagner becsuse Wagner missed too many reps in the preseason and wasn't getting much time at LT because it was Hurst and Jah behind Monroe in the times the media could actually view practice.

He said maybe Wagner got reps this week at LT but still not enough.

Raiders have a player named Lee Smith.  Let's win.

Perriman was apparently out on the field running during warmups today. Babin is inactive. That's a bit surprising since he was with the Jets for all of camp/preseason, and thus is presumably in "football shape", and would probably only been used strictly as a pass-rusher anyway.

None of the early games went in the Ravens favor today, making it even more important not to drop to 0-2.
