The state doesn't... just the oh-so-holy knuckle-draggers in the legislature...
What I found hilarious is that they think it's less disturbing to have to have a trans-man in his business suit use the ladies' room just because he was born as a girl... and have a trans-woman in all her female regalia use the mens' room because she was born with a dick. No, that wouldn't upset anybody....

Asheville is possibly the best beer city in the country, especially when you consider walkability as there are over 10 breweries within an easy walk of each other and then more not much further away.
Visit Bend when you're out this way again. I've never really been to Asheville (only driven past it a couple times) but it sounds like the eastern version of Bend.
