I am taking this idea from Mike and Mike.  This morning they were discussing who are the greatest athletes, in any sport, that are 25 and younger.  Now, the premise isn't who has accomplished more up until this point in their careers but who will be the best in 10 years(2025).

I am going to make the same thread in the NFL and NBA sections and then make an overall one in the "other" section.

So, who are the 25 y/o and under players you feel will be the 4 best players in the sport as you look back on things in 2025?  All players eligible, including the minors.

Harper, Trout, Machado, Stanton

<p>I am pretty sure Shack is thinking of PBR.

The four who I think will have the best next 10 years are Trout, Harper, Manny, & Stanton.

Guess you are asking a slightly different question.. who will be the best in 10 years. Probably have to look even younger than the aforementioned 4 I guess.

No, that's right.

Basically, between now and 2025, who will be the best players.

Is it weird we see no dominate pitcher or is it because they get hurt to easily?

I'd lean position player over pitcher regardless; but the track record of this group at 25 and younger already is hard to ignore.

Well a guy like Baumgarner is 25 and has accomplished so much but still, its tough to put a pitcher there because of injuries.

This is really tough, perhaps the toughest of any of the individual sports.

Besides the names mentioned, you have guys like Correa, Bryant, Arenado, Russell, Buxton, et al....

Yea, considering age and position, Correa may have to be on it.

Trout is a no doubt about it.

So, for me, it comes down to 3 of Bryant/Correa/Harper/Manny/Stanton

A guy like Buxton may have to be on it if we did this next year but he has had injury issues and has done nothing yet, so its tough to say on him yet.

He looks like a sure thing so far, no question. I just traded Trout for Correa straight up in a Fantasy league. I had to move Trout as it was the last year I could keep him.

Bryant's power is absurd too..This is very difficult. Narrowing it to 4 is impossible.

Its funny how you take off Stanton considering how much he has accomplished already but I think he has to go before the other 3.

Stanton can obviously mash, but you have to consider defense, positional value, and durability, which do not help his case.

The thing I dont like about this, not basing it off what they have done is impossible. I can put Hunter Harvey on mine. Who is to say im wrong?

Yep...which is why he goes off my list.  Just feels wrong though.

Well you wouldn't be wrong..unless of course you don't actually believe he will be one of the best 4.
