I'm watching. No idea who these guys are though. Heard someone mention that there is no Strasburg or Harper in the draft. Vandy guys are a solid bet given their MLB track record.

I heard them say that Houston's #2 overall pick was compensation for not getting their top pick signed last year? So why do owners worry about sign-ability so much? It's not like you're SOL if your guy doesn't sign. You just have to wait another year and you double up on first round picks. You have to wait a while on most guys anyway.

Houston took a lot of heat for their situation. There are probably some agents who will hold a grudge over it. You probably don't want to make it a habit that you can't sign your player.

Also signability is kinda code for "cheaper."

I've been following moreso than usual, and apparently the Rogers kid has 35-40 home run power, and probably was the best talent in the draft. Great pick for the Rockies.

I wasn't sure it was just a team thing when a guy doesn't sign. Like a player doesn't want to play for a certain team, or parents make them choose college instead. If you believe in a guy I guess you want to do everything possible to sign him.

That Fullmer guy looks like a reliever. Like he puts everything he has into his pitches. Not sure that kind of stress can hold up over 200 innings. Just doesn't look smooth.

Yep, came here to say this. Saving money for a big splash later?

I read a little bit about him earlier today. People were saying he was a draft board riser. Marlins might have scared themselves into it.

I'd just like the say that Beaner is currently leading our fantasy league in home runs and has about 40 more than my team.  WTF.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty
