Flaherty off the DL and Alejandro DFA'd, per Scott Garceau FB page. Did not see this one coming. I would've kept him over Everth myself.

Such a shame. Was a God send in 2014.
He'll probably clear waivers, though.

I believe a very intelligent poster suggested this in last night's game thread. I'd have to look back to see who it was though,

But what we did was much better!

It was obvious an OF was going to be DFA. They chose Lough over De Aza despite paying him 5+ mil. Pearce, Snider, and Young were not realistic options to be DFA. It came down to these two.

At least they aren't holding onto their mistakes. Better to move on a try to fix mistakes then keep putting square pegs in round holes. Better yet to have not made these obvious mistakes, but that shipped sailed back at the non-tender deadline (well, we could've traded Norris at any point before ST and gotten something useful).

Moves like this were always inevitable.
I'm glad they kept Lough..more service time, better player, cheaper, etc...

Wouldn't be shocked if they can find a trade partner for him and not be on the hook for the entire remainder of his contract. They'll eat some of it, but I think they can get someone else to take a chance on him for a million or so.

I'm not buying that. We will be on the hook for everything. He'll pass through waivers, decline his assignment and be released. That's when some team Will take a shot on him.

And you can't tell me DDs situation had nothing to with his ability to do his job to the best of his ability this off-season. How much of a distraction we don't know, but it obviously was one. That's like a bat signal to Shack, but I don't give a crap. Eventually, he'll admit it.This team did such an awful depth managing the depth in the offseason.
