Just me or have there been a lot of ridiculously long games?

Another two 15 inning games today, there was a 14 inning game last night, of course the O's have had a few really long ones too this year.

I could be way off here, but I can't recall a season where there have been this many looooong games. Let's say 11 innings or more. Am I crazy,or just paying attention more?

I asked the same thing this morning. There have been 78 xtra inning games so far this year, last year at the same time there were 110 (MLB Record). NO IDEA if there are more LONG inning games this year or not though, don't know where to find the stats on that.

Yeah i just did extended stats at ESPN, added all the records and divided by 2 to get the # of games. Gotta be an easier place to find stats like that.

As an Orioles fan, it feels that way, that's for sure.

Yeah AL avg is 583 IP and we are at 603 right now. 11 extra inning games, 65 G x 9 ip = 585 - 13IP for road losses where we didn't pitch in the 9th = 572ip.

So that means in our 11 extra inning games we've thrown an extra 31 innings for an avg of JUST about 3 extra per which means avg. 12 innings per extra inning game.
