Big results so far.... Australia over France, and Croatia over Spain.

Spain and Brazil on now... US and Australia tomorrow.
Shame Spain doesn't have M. Gasol, and Ibaka... do have 7 NBA players though.

Is it weird that I love the Olympics and like basketball, but have zero interest in Olympic basketball?

Nah, think most people are like you.
I'm still in to it, but would be more entertaining if Canada was here with their full team, Australia had Simmons and Exum, and Spain had Marc Gasol and Ibaka (though I think they wouldn't be allowed to have Mirotic if Ibaka was on the roster).
Am looking forward to US / Australia tomorrow.

We see basketball every day... for me, the Olympics is about people doing truly amazing things that I don't get to see every day...

Marc Stein / ESPN:
Interesting theory offered up by Aussie legend Andrew Gaze in the press tribune less than two hours until Australia and Team USA meet (1/2)
Gaze wonders if Australia might hold some stuff back tonight Pop-style knowing they might have a second shot at Team USA in the medal round.
Well-placed source just told me Gaze's "theory" is more than a theory. Holding back Gregg Popovich-style indeed expected to be Oz game plan.

41-36 Australia.... Bogut getting his knee looked at though, and Baynes picked up his 3rd.

Australia had the lead at the half... shot near 70% from the floor...
Late 3rd, US up 2.

Was rooting for K to lose this game. Obviously, can't do it in the medal rounds but here. Yup
I'm a K fan when he's wearing the RWB....
I was rooting for the US to be pushed tonight.... they didn't play very smart. Melo and Irving gutted things out.
Give Australia Simmons and Exum, and they may have had enough to pull off the upset.
Entertaining game overall....
US wins 98-88.

Melo with 25... US up 4, with 7:08 left.
Olympic Melo is great.

France has a good team.... Spain has 7 current NBA players, 10 players who have been in the league... but a lot of old legs and have already lost two games.
Think Australia is probably the 2nd best team here.

Olympic Melo is great.
I wonder how his Olympics resume will be viewed in comparison to his "selfish" NBA resume?
