Stone Won't Sign Traditional Letter of Intent with Maryland

Diamond Stone won't be holding a glitzy press conference to sign a National Letter of Intent with Maryland. In fact, he won't be signing one at all. But take a deep breath -- it's not because Stone is second-guessing his verbal commitment.

Stone, the five-star center from Milwaukee who committed to the Terps in March, will instead sign financial aid papers with the university. It's a protective measure his father, Bob Stone, learned about a few years ago and opted for after watching a few recruits struggle to get out of their Letters of Intent when the coaches who recruited them moved on to new jobs.

Also being reported, though not yet confirmed, the University of Wisconsin is about to sign a uniform deal with Under Armour. Take that, you cheezehead bitchez!

While his # of FT attempts dropped, his percentage-made went up from 66% in his junior season to 74.5% his senior season. And the improvement could have had something to do with the reduced attempts. Either way, anything in the 70%-plus range for a big will play well in college.

Every time this thread gets bumped, I assume its because he's decommitted and is going to another school.

Yes. The life of being a MD basketball fan.

That said, things feel different right now. It's obvious there is a ton of hype with this group of players. Everybody has MD as a Top 3 preseason team. Players are excited about  the buzz. Now, comes the part of living up to expectations.
