Got home from being out of town for a wedding on Sunday morning, and my refrigerator had broken. This sounds like a rant, but it's not because:
1) It happened the week after my big party instead of the week of or before the big party when I had about 100 lbs of food in the fridge or freezer. Lost a little bit of food, mostly some frozen stuff and condiments, but the fridge was more or less empty over the weekend so not a big loss food wise at all (cheese drawer was probably the biggest hit).
2) I think I've found the culprit (relay and overload switch blew out) and if that's the only thing that's broken, it's just a $40 part and I think a fairly easy replacement that I should be able to do myself and avoid paying a technician. Compressor is still good, if it had gone, I'd be junkyard time for the fridge.
UPDATE: Fixed! $35 part, only took about 10 minutes to put in.
