Penn State and Green Bay knocked out in a span of a few days. Ravens fans feel free to replace Green Bay with Pittsburgh. Good times either way.

Have had an interesting last week. Last Friday night my 16 year old started vomiting a huge amount of blood. Like, think about what you think I mean by that and then triple it. He was just straight projectile vomiting blood over and over again. It was terrifying. Ended up getting an ambulance to the the Carroll County ER and then transferred to Sinai. Spent most of the last week with him in the hospital. Long story short he had a lesion in his stomach that was causing active bleeding and they clamped it off via endoscopy.
Anti-rant because I can't say enough good things about the way he was treated at both locations. I feel like people only ever complain about health-care workers but the nurses and doctors were all top-notch. He's back home now and doing well and I'm super thankful for all of them.

Wow! What caused his lesion? Prognosis good?
I never complain about healthcare workers. I complain about health insurance, but that's another beast.

He's home and should make a full recovery. No restrictions other than to ease back into activities depending how his body feels. Blood count levels dropped quite a bit - he ended up needing a transfusion - so just needs to listen to his body if he gets tired until they build back up.
He had a bad stomach bug back around Christmas and simultaneously was taking ibuprofen to help with a hip injury. They think it could have been a combination of that, or just a freak genetic thing.
"Health care workers" wasn't the best phrasing. Maybe more the health care experience - long wait times, issues with admin, etc. And yeah, insurance is a whole 'nother beast.

Fine, I'll admit it, I laugh every time the Geico Pig commercial comes on.
Sorry not sorry.

My car insurance is through GEICO. Glad my premium payments fund such classic commercials.
