I'm not hoping an O's starter falters, but I'd love to see Moyer get at least one start for us. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I think it'd be pretty cool to see, and he's pitched well enough at AAA that I think he could handle a big league start.

We should be teaching him how to throw a knuckleball. He could pitch till he's 65+!

According to Roch Kubato, Jamie Moyer can opt out of his contract in the next couple of days if the Orioles don't call him up. Apparently he's putting up decent numbers at Norfolk.

Well, Moyer was given his release today. Kinda surprised about that.

I guess the O's weren't looking to use him for Tuesday's start.

Nah they are skipping the 5th starter until next weekend, and probably again at the break. They wouldn't play Moyer over Matusz (or Jake I guess) right now, so he bailed. Just bad timing, if not for this break, he woulda come up to start this week.

I'm sort of sorry it didn't work out with the Orioles, but he wasn't going to be a difference maker so maybe it is just as well.
