I think the Orioles have a real chance to sweep this series. Play sound defense, be patient at the plate, don't beat yourself and let Eflin and Burnes carry the rest.

Cortes owns us. At least it feels like he does.
6 shutout the last time we saw him. But we got to him decently the 3 prior starts going back through '23 (4 R in 6 IP, 4 R in 6 IP, 2 R in 5.1 IP). He did indeed own us in '22, 18 scoreless over 3 starts with tons of Ks.

Through 2022 he certainly did. Last two years we are 2-2 in his 4 starts. One great start (0 runs in 6 innings), one pretty good (2 runs in 5.1), two meh (4 in 6). I'll take 4 runs in 6 innings.

According to this YES guy, Cortes is getting an elbow MRI today and so his status is uncertain. He later says Cody Poteet is expected to be there in case needed.

The Yankees starter is now listed as undecided. I guess that MRI didn't go so well. Their fans are mentioning Stroman as a possibility.
