EDIT: You can listen here: http://baltimorespor...ars-episode-20/

Mike and I taped tonight...we had some technical difficulties at times, so it may be a day or so until Lance is able to get it edited.

Tonight we had Jeremy on to discuss the Os and he provided good info on Gausman. We also discussed the NBA playoffs and we went over the first 10 names on each of our top 20 baseball players of our generation.

It was another long podcast, like last week was, but it was a lot of good discussion IMO.

It will be great to have you back on. We can talk about Carlos Rodgers, platoons, and the value of OBP.  ;)

Granted one start but I agree with Jeremy about the slider. IMO, it's still a dangerous pitch. Not the plus pitches the fastball and change are but a useful big league pitch.

Not to rehash the lebron debate but nobody expects Lebron to carry role players to a title. COmpletely different argument form the argument yesterday. Again, Lebron is the man, the "king". Players hsould be going to play with him not him deffering and going to another mans team and as we said the other day. Lebron even admitted at the time that it was Wade's team. Barkley and Jordan and whoever else commented at the time is right. None of those guys would have went to a city and team in the prime of their careers and said, "its his team".

And calling the players around LeBron right now glorified role players is just laughable Mike.

I'm sure I'll have more in awhile. I'm just getting into your baseball list.

The problem with McGwire is he was undoubtedly a steroid user his whole career. That has to be a factor  even thjough you guys didn;t weigh steroids heavily. I think it's safe to say steroids may have played a huge part in him being what he was. he brought nothing except slugging ability really. If McGwire isn't quite slugging threat he's probably not as high an OBP threat too. I just think steroids were too big a factor in his career.

The other argument Rob made which is durability.

That's what I called Bosh only if I'm not mistaken. What do you want to call two guys that were averaging 26 points combined in the playoffs?

They both have more ability than that, but they certainly haven't been playing like stars lately.

You're very gullible if you think guys wouldn't have left their mediocre teams to play with another great player and to have a better chance to win if they had the chance.

And that's easy to say when you had a really good situation like MJ, Magic, and Bird. And very odd to say if you demanded a trade to a better team in your prime like Charles.

Who was the man in Phoenix. Kevin Johnson??? TOm Chambers??? Barkley was immediately the superstar alpha male there.

Don't you dare take anything away from Dan Majerle. He was one of my favorite all-time players :)

And Mike talked me off of Cabrera with his point. I agree with Rob. In 5 years it's much more likely that Cabrera makes it but for now Mike gave a good enough argument to keep Cabrera off for now.

Jeter>Larkin IMO and I love to hate Jeter and always liked Larkin.

I'll cAtch the rest and give thoughts tomorrow.

Who cares who the man was? The point is that he demanded to be traded to a better team. You really think he would have refused to go to a team with a superstar?

I just don't get peoples obsession with this alpha dog thing. Lebron was obviously going to be that with Miami and he has been so what's the big deal? Because Wade's team had the cap space and James' didn't? Or that Miami is a million times better than Cleveland? Would it have been ok if James and Wade joined up on a different team?

And again, why would it have been ok to go to Chicago but not Miami when the former was at least as good of a team?

And it was a good thing that Kobe couldn't handle playing with Shaq?

Griffey is too low Mike. Way too low. He's top 10. Heck, I don't disagree that he is overrated by some. A lot would still have him top 5.

And now Rob goes to Glavine who I think was overrated. He's not 14 IMO.

Not surprising but it's a pretty big deal to a lot of people and people who know  more about basketball than you. And no I'm not talking about myself.

And others like Bill Russell would say how it's all about teamwork instead of superficial BS like this. But funny that you pulled that card when there's far from any consensus on this from these basketball geniuses.

And good job avoiding the questions.
