Going to need to clean up the fumbles before any awards are given out.

It's a little soon for that proclamation
It's the same point in the season for everybody.

Well, I think you would get legitimate arguments from KC, Miami, and Philadelphia fans at this point. He should be in the conversation but I don't know about the favorite.
Tua 2092 yds, 71.2% completion, 15 TD, 6 int Miami 5-2
Mahomes 2017 yds, 69.6% completion, 15 TD, 6 int KC 6-1
Hurts 1821 yds, 67.2% completion, 9 TD, 8 int Philly 6-1
Jackson 1610 yds, 71.0% completion, 8 TD, 3 int Bal 5-2
I could put him as high as 3 right now ahead of hurts, but not over Tua or Mahomes based on stats right now.

Lamar is in the conversation. Not the favorite and shouldn’t be, yet. I think Vegas odds have him 4th.

I’m not saying he should be the favorite, 3rd is probably about right, but you can’t say based on stats and just ignore what he does on the ground. Hurts too.

Good point on McCaffery. I got caught up in looking only at QBs. I'm sure there are candidates from other positions as well.

Christian McCaffery says hi too.

I don’t think RBs are eligible anymore. Strictly a QB award. Maybe OPOTY.
Slight sarcasm, but that’s how they vote.

The article is making the argument that the defenses expected points added per drive (EPA) is the most important stat to determine how "valuble" a player is and Lamar is crushing it. I'm not sure how true that is but that's the point he's making.
