Well lets see how we fare in that crap place called Tropicana field. Like to see us win this series but will take a split. Odd ball to have a 2 game series with a divisional team.

They have an outrageous home record so it's not going to be easy. I'll take a split.

Our two best SP are going and we avoid McClanahan. I'll definitely take a split, but think we have a shot to get both of them. O's record has been nearly as good as Tampa since April ended (28-18 compared to 25-18). Run differential trails by a lot (+40 to +13), though.

They make it intentionally dark in there to help their pitchers and their hitters are used to it.

I had not realized we were off Thursday until Palmer said it on the broadcast yesterday. We are going to pay for the double off days later in the year.
The Trop is a weird place. I went to a few games there in 21 and it is really tough to track the ball. We got great seats for next to nothing though.

Let's win tomorrow and then we can all get greedy.

Glasnow, is still working his way back. Make him work, and maybe he leaves in the 5th inning. Working the count is a very good thing tomorrow.

I think there's something to your theory. I did a bit of research and the Trop is the only stadium in MLB that does not have any accessibility to natural light.
It's most likely a result of it's outdated design. However, I think it certainly makes it difficult for opposing teams to hit in that environment. Further, their hitters have to adjust to survive in the big leagues and they do play 81 games there. (Their minor leaguers probably take soft toss in a tomb several times a week to prep for the bigs.)

It's a lousy design that has structural beams in the field of play. I think they rushed the design because the San Francisco Giants were teasing the Tampa Bay area (as well as the Chicago White Sox as I recall). I was in college at USF back then. Went to a few concerts at the Thunderdome (Robert Plant & The Black Crowes, Van Halen, R.E.M. & Radiohead, Rush all come to mind...And a few years later, I'd drive over to catch some Lightning games.
What's interesting is the lighting for the Lightning games always seemed bright enough.

I didn't know that the Lightning played there. I always thought they played in a different type of arena. I'm sure it was a decent venue for concerts and other things. However, even though I have never been there, it looks like a dingy place to play baseball. It's a lousy design that has structural beams in the field of play. Yeah the first four years of their franchise history was spent at the Thunderdome in St Pete. The Ice Palace was built in downtown Tampa at the southern edge of the city (water's edge) just north of Davis Islands. It's really nice down there. It's a shame the Rays can't get a stadium built on the correct side of the Bay. Something around I-75 and I-4 past Ybor would be perfect.

It certainly is a dreary place. I didn't feel it was overly dark there but it was certainly different.
