There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Absolutely, it is an excellent show. It's amazing to see just how far McConaughey has come as an actor, Rust Cohle is quickly becoming one of my favorite television characters in a drama. I've watched a lot of different takes on the serial killer plot line, stuff like The Fall (which is also great), and this is my favorite so far.
It's interesting that they're so clearly setting up Cohle as a suspect in the present day framing device murder. It's obviously not, it's not like they're subtly hinting at it and it'd be far to obvious. But I also don't think that fits the character, he's messed up in a different way.

The new episode tonight was really crazy and intense. Interesting to see them showing that the full story might not be getting told to the present day detectives.

Yea, that was an insane last 10 minutes or so.

I read they filmed that scene in one take.

Well they've been setting up that twist in the narrative for a long time, incredibly obvious. Still don't think it was Cohle.

Me neither....I keep thinking that the guy who plays Eli on Boardwalk Empire has something to do with this.

I could see that, I thought he got a lot of facetime in the original promos for the show, but maybe they were just setting up the evangelical elements of the location it takes place in. Embarrassingly, I thought that dude was Steve Zahn for a long time until it finally came up in the episode and I got a good look at him.
Regardless, I don't think we've seen the big bad yet though, and it's going to come out that Cohle's been doing his own detective work on the matter which is why he fell off the grid.

And yeah, wouldn't surprise me if Cohle was working this off the grid the whole time. Or just became a drunk, who knows?
There was some good clips/stuff about this episode online at HBO too.

I've really enjoyed this show so far. Beautifully acted and shot, and the story has been really intriguing as well.
Plus, Brother Mouzone. Come on. Home run. There better be at least a production still or something of him with a bow tie on.

Did anyone see that commercial with Clay Davis playing a bailiff where he told the court to Siiiiiiiiiiiit???
Awesome. I forget what it was for, but when I see it again, I'll buy some of that product. Unless it was for Comcast.

Crazy possible explanation for Marty's freak out in the preview for next week: YK got one of his daughters.

I'm three episodes in. Didn't want to read the whole thread at risk of spoilers. But am I missing something? Did they ever explain why the two guys are being interrogated in the present day? Or is this leading up to some big reveal at the end?
Love this show. But, more Alexandra Daddario please.
