Following their close loss to Michigan last weekend, Maryland will close out their 2023 regular season on the road against Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights hold an identical 6-5 (3-5) record, and have lost their last three games to Ohio State, Iowa, and Penn State. Their loss to the Buckeyes in early November is their only loss at home so far this season. Greg Schiano is in the fourth season of his second stint as their head coach in Piscataway.
With a win, Maryland would secure three straight winning seasons for the first time since 2001-03. Mike Locksley would also receive an automatic one-year contract extension through the 2028 season with a victory this weekend. They'll also have the opportunity to win bowl games in three straight years, something that's never been done in program history.
Maryland opens as 1.5-point favorites in this game, and ESPN gives them a 54.4% chance to win.
