Following their first loss of the season against Ohio State last weekend, Maryland returns to College Park for their homecoming matchup with Illinois. The Fighting Illini are currently 2-4 (0-3) on the year, and have lost two straight games to Purdue and Nebraska. They're currently holding down the last place position in the Big Ten's West Division. When these two teams last met on a Friday night in 2021, the Terps won on a walk-off field goal in Champaign.
Maryland opens as 14-point favorites in this game, and ESPN gives them an 85.5% chance to win.

I did not see a play of last weeks game. A buddy kept texting me updates and it seemed like another game of mistakes. Start cleaning them up and get to 6-1.
Bottom line, until Maryland can win a game against one of the big 3, they are going to be limited in what they can deliver.

Nice job hitting a quick slant to Prather for the 1st. Love that simple play.

Ja’Quan Sheppard with ANOTHER blown coverage which leads to a touchdown. He may need to hit the bench, he’s a liability out there.
He was All AAC and an encouraging pickup in the portal, but it's Game 7 and that's what... at-least 5 times he's just been beat badly?

He’s 6’2”, 203 lbs. and is either unable or unwilling to use his size. Constantly getting bullied physically by receivers.
