He’s a power hitting lefty. They’re using him as we’ve been facing a bunch of RHP lately, Mountcastle is unavailable, and Cowser isn’t ready in their eyes. Great stats in AAA, he’ll be back there soon.

Very rare that the light bulb suddenly comes on for almost 29 year old career minor leaguer, regardless of what he's done in a small smaller this year. I'd much rather have Vavra and his contact rate get ABs than Lester but it is what it is, I suppose.

Vavra better off getting regular at bats in AAA, don’t need to worry about that with guys like Lester and O’Hearn.

Hoping we see some changes for tuesdays game.

I saw Vavra was at second base for a few games.  If he is going to have some success, in the organization it has to be as an infielder.

Can anyone tell me why Josh Lester is still on this team? Is it like a make a wish thing? I'm only half kidding.

It is a fair question.  

I saw Vavra was at second base for a few games.  If he is going to have some success, in the organization it has to be as an infielder.  

I think this is an area where the O's really mismanage their players. Over use of the Norfolk shuttle. Guys like Stowers and Vavra. Play them or don't. But jumping them back and forth and worse letting them sit on the bench just doesn't seem like a recipe for success to me.  I hope we don't see the same thing with Cowser and Westburg.

I agree with that.  It's not like the Orioles are sporting an All-Star hitting line-up at every position.  If Cowser and Westburg are better than what's up here, then play them every day.  Hyde needs to incorporate a little Earl Weaver in his constitution and play the best players. Of course, you can't argue much about 40 wins on June 11th but you should always aspire to be better. 

There's no reason for Cowser, Westburg, and/or Ortiz not being up here and getting regular ABs.
