And Just in case we need a link to 1989, guess who is starting tomorrow.

It will be Steve Johnson's first career Major League start. He's on regular rest, last went Friday for Triple-A. #Orioles
Give em hell Steve.

I would imagine he hits the DL. Another reliever is probably on the way.

I wouldn't be surprised if Britton sticks around. He's the theoretical option for Johnson, but if someone is DLed he can stick around. One other thing Ryan Flaherty has a 103 fever.

Britton was sent to Norfolk. Sorry should have been more clear.I wouldn't be surprised if Britton sticks around. He's the theoretical option for Johnson, but if someone is DLed he can stick around.

I am guessing they want another reliever. I would expect the only reliever available tomorrow is JJ.No, I get that. I mean if Flaherty goes on the DL he might come right back.
Hunter will be the long guy. I expect another pitcher to be called up.

Is Hunter going to pen or are they just pushing everyone back a day and keeping Johnson on schedule?
Johnson pitching tonight, Hunter in the bullpen. No word yet on when Hunter will start next.

Let's hope Steve picks up his first major league win tonight as well. Just adds to what has been one of those seasons that truly define logic.
Just sit back and enjoy it. Why Not: Part 2. Indeed.

This makes little sense. I would rather have Johnson in the pen right now vs Hunter.Johnson pitching tonight, Hunter in the bullpen. No word yet on when Hunter will start next.

I think the logic is that since Hunter had to warm up last night, he probably wouldn't be able to pitch particularly deep into the game, and they'd rather just use him for 2-3 innings of relief. Johnson on the other hand is only limited by his performance. I know Tommy has pitched fairly well recently, but I don't really think it's a downgrade to go with Johnson as the starter. This makes little sense. Johnson isn't a ML starter and that would be proven over the course of time...he could be a solid reliever though.
Hunter could definitely be a #4 type starter.
Ultimately I think they are both relievers but Hunter has more starters upside than Johnson does.

Funny how things work, huh?

Read on insidemdsports that Dave Johnson picked up his first ML win on 8/8/89. Did I just blow your mind?

I think I've seen enough of Hunter to determine that he's at best a #4 type and most likely a 5th. And as you said, better used in the 'pen. Ideally I think he's your long reliever.Hunter could definitely be a #4 type starter.
Ultimately I think they are both relievers but Hunter has more starters upside than Johnson does.
I need to see more of Johnson, but I could see him getting lit up if he performs like he did in his debut.

Monday seems like a long-time away, I wish they had a Thursday off-day right now. They'll need the starters to go deep into games on most nights until then especially if we play some more extra innings ones.So I assume that Hunter will be available out of the pen tonight, then be back on schedule to start in Brittons place next time out. We also have an off day Monday, so that gives Buck more options and time to figure it out.
