I thought we had a 'Mats/80s thread here but I didn't see it.
Anyway, "Let it Be" by the Replacements is the best album of the 80s and it is celebrating its 30th birthday this month. If you haven't checked this album/band out, do yourself a favor and load it up on Spotify or whatever program you use -- you won't regret it.
As for my 10 favorite albums of the 80s, the list goes a bit something like:
1) "Let it Be" - The Replacements
2) "Murmur" - REM
3) "Document" - REM
4) "Graceland" - Paul Simon
5) "The Joshua Tree" - U2
6) "Daydream Nation" - Sonic Youth
7) "Licensed to Ill" - Beastie Boys
8) "The Unforgettable Fire" - U2
9) "Pleased to Meet Me" - The Replacements
10) "Remain in Light" - Talking Heads
