Every night there is a game on, and every night there is another Western Conference team to love.

Watching Dallas / Portland... Steve Blake, and Kaman getting involved... Blake finding CJ McCollum for a couple of 3's... Barton with a nice pass to Kaman.

The Blazers poured it on in the 3rd Qtr and cruised to an easy win. Tonight was easily the best game so far for the Blazer's bench, and that's before the guys at the end came in for mop-up time. It's still the Blazer's Achilles heel, but should be better than last season. The new additions; Blake, Kaman and McCollum (not new, but since he missed most of last season with a broken foot it seems that way) have been the main contributors behind the starters so far.

With as deep as the West is, could the Thunder miss the playoffs due to all these injuries? They'll be one of the better teams once everyone is healthy (assuming that happens), but they're going to have to make up a lot of ground on teams that are quite good. Last year it took 49 wins to make the playoffs in the West, and it will likely be similar this year. The Thunder are going to have be really good once we get into 2015 to get to 50ish wins and if they do, their road in the playoffs is going to be really tough.

We are going to have to discuss this next week.

This is a real possibility.

It's really unreal how good the West is right now. No one was talking about Memphis or Houston coming into the season and those 2 teams could meet in the western conference finals and it wouldn't be a surprise.

I think at this point, it's almost safe to say that they won't make it. If they start out 3-16 or whatever, it's going to be difficult.

The West is truly insane. Sacramento has always been a sneaky fun League Pass team, but moreso because of their dysfunction. Now, they're fun to watch because they might be really good.

...and finish 11th in the west.

I think some of the teams in the West will miss the playoffs and could have been in the top 5 in the East.

Yea, they probably will, but it's fun to see right now.

No doubt your second point is true. A team like Phoenix for sure would be a top contender in the East.

It obviously depends when they get those guys back, but they are more than capable of going 47-16 in a scenario where they know every game is huge. They would have to play great ball and have injury luck on their side from then on, though. When healthy this is arguably the best team in the league, so it would be crazy if they don't even make the playoffs. Certainly a compelling aspect of the season to follow.

The Blazers scored more points tonight in the 1st Half (84), than the Heat scored in their entire game (75).

Anthony Davis has 3 games of 25 points, 10 boards, 5 blocks, the rest of the league has none. He's fantastic.

Yes but is he better than John Wall? ;-)

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Put the 1972-73 Sixers on notice....the 2014-15 version lost by 53 points to Dallas tonight. 9-73 might be in jeopardy. And somewhere, Sam Hinkie is doing his best Monty Burns impersonation (Eeeeeeeexcellent).
