There was an NFL player who did an AMA on reddit and made a joke about a conspiracy theory and wrote "%conspiracy," as if to hashtag it. As far as I know, he never said if it was a mistake or if he purposefully used a % instead of a #. So if you see me writing that, that's where it's from.
