I gotta believe that Phelps or Hundley would be better options than Davis tonight. I mean, he's got almost no prayer against Sale.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Yeah, I agree. Not because of how Davis has hit, but because of how Sale pitches. I'd have him in there against most lefties (though probably at 1B instead of 3B), but given Sale's ridiculous numbers against lefties, I'd have taken the defense from Phelps (or even Flaherty) over the offensive potential from Davis since it's pretty unlikely to be realized against such a dominant foe. You can always use Davis as a PH once Sale is out of the game.
Davis has no history against Sale (0/1) so maybe he can actually be one of the few lefties who has a chance, but I don't think that's something I'd be betting on. Give me the stronger glove if we're prettly likely to get an 0/4 against Sale from whoever plays 3B.

They are probably hoping he can run into a pitch and hit it into the lake. Flaherty isn't doing that no matter what. So then it's about the possibility of the power versus one game's worth of a better glove.

First it would have to clear the interstate and housing projects the field faces. But you get a GREAT view of downtown....riding up the escalator.They are probably hoping he can run into a pitch and hit it into the lake. Flaherty isn't doing that no matter what. So then it's about the possibility of the power versus one game's worth of a better glove.
