A healthy Britton in the rotation and Hunter in the pen would be nice...also allows you to move a bp arm in a trade.

Haha, logged on to post this same thing this morning.

Hunter just isn't cut out to be a starter. He should be a long man, perhaps maybe more useful in the bullpen. Getting Britton back and getting Hunter out of at least the rotation if not off the 25-man will be a big improvement for this squad, IMO.

I agree with this - I wrote before the season began that I thought Hunter would be a great set up man because he has the ability to really dial it up with his fastball. That would allow us to sell high on either Strop or Johnson IMO.

Unless you can find another long-man, I like Hunter in that role. It's not a sexy role, but you need someone to eat up those innings and make the occasional spot start.

I always preferred Hunter out of the pen but I started to come to the side that he could do enough(ie eat enough innings, keep us in enough games) that he could be a back end starter.

I still feel that way but I also don't think, if Britton comes back healthy, that he is one of the best 5 starters on the team, so he needs to go to the pen.

As was said, that opens up the door to deal JJ or Strop much easier.

BTW, Vernon Wells out 10 weeks now, so scrap the Bourjous idea I am sure.
