I was just about to say "yeah, well who the hell is going to play second! Pearce?!" Whoops.Ridiculous to not get Pearce to the plate.
Aaand fuck.
Pearce to first, Flaherty to second, and Davis to third.

Glad you guys have got it on lock down

What a brutal loss. Duquette has one week to overhaul the bullpen.

Matusz is the biggest culprit here tonight. Loss is on him, IMO.
Hunter did his job well enough. Aybar got a big hit, but he got everyone else he was supposed to. Tillman obviously battled a ton to do a real nice job. 2 runs is a rough night from the offense, but Weaver is really good and was on his game tonight.
Matusz' loss. I'd have kicked him off the team a month ago. No need for him at this point. Ortiz won't be in the playoffs and we likely wouldn't play the Angels until the ALCS so Hamilton isn't that likely. He's useless against most hitters, even lefties. A few guys can't read him at all, but the ones that can are hitting him now.

2B, RP, LF who can hit RHP are the needs in that order.

Were lucky to be 3-3 though we could be 5-1.
I guess you take it, but we can't survive with Davis, Flaherty, Schoop, and Joseph/Hundley hitting every night.
Add Cruz to that list as well. His average is dropping like a lead balloon.

Well yeah, you expect the ups and downs. Hardy and Pearce will be up and down too.
The guys I listed are just black holes and will likely be black holes for as long as we continue to put them in the lineup. Little, to no hope.

I for one was surprised to see Hunter come back out in the 8th. I would have had Matusz pitch to Hamilton, then use the pen for the rest of the inning. True Hamilton's hit was a fluke, but Matusz owns Hamilton. Hamilton know this.
Oh well on to Seatle

I'll happily take 2/3 from one of the hottest teams in the game. Doesn't mean that didn't suck, but oh well. Move on. Time to figure out King Felix and Iwakuma.

Matusz has been solid vs lefties, but has absolutely been lit up against righties.
641 OPS against lefties is not solid for a LOOGY. All of the lefties in the entire league have a 649 OPS against LHP. Matusz isn't doing any better than a typical lefty even against LHP.
He's worthless. He should be released immediately, IMO, assuming we can't get anything of moderate value in return for him. Maybe we can get Kurt Suzuki or something for him, that'd be perfect.

Really getting tired of watching Chris Davis try to impersonate a competent MLB hitter.
Also really getting tired of watching JJ Hardy watch 1st pitch strikes go by. Swing the bat ya 'pus.
Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair
