How long does that asshole Brady have left?
I mean he could play until he's in his mid-40's.

The Royals are ascending that list quickly...but I'd still easily root for them over NYY or BOS.

What's your beef with the Capitals? Do you follow hockey?

1-Duke (the only team i truly have sports hate for)
2-St Louis Cardinals (have been a closet cubs fan forever, and the Cards always beat up on them)
3-Whoever Calipari is coaching (petty, but true)
4-All four of our AL East opponents
These teams I'll pretty much dislike regardless of their record, certain players that are playing there...etc.
The Red Sox and Yankees don't bother me when they're no factor any more than anyone else in the East, but the Red Sox post 2004 bandwagon is a little much .I root against everyone in our division regardless. I see a lot of New England hate, but that'll disappear once Brady and Belicheck are gone I'd expect. But I guess if we did this in 5 years, things might be different.
Yes, I overanalyzed this tremendously.
I wrote this less than a year ago, and a little has changed..
I have an unhealthy man crush on Kolten Wong of the Cardinals right now, so they're not as hated as usual (even though the Cubs/Cards rivalry is about to get real good again).
I also gained a bit of respect for Calipari this past season the way he handled the pressure and expectations.

Before anyone tries to change my mind, just don't bother
Basically a conglomeration of me disliking DC teams, a lot of bandwagon fans that rooted for them in the late 2000s all of a sudden and it's fun to piss off my one friend who has been a die hard since the teal and gold days.

The Royals are just the Royals... they're nothing special, just annoying....

Yea, the "hate" will fade quickly.
They're really good though.

I've been a die hard since the red, white and blue days (Part 1). Don't start.
Hey, don't act like this is all that impressive. I've been a bandwagon Caps fan for at least that long.

Remember in the mid-90s when we HATED the Indians?

Boom.
Though Clevelanders didn't care for us back then. I got a lot of shit thrown at me in my O's jersey during the 1997 All Star festivities.

People in Baltimore still hate the Pirates from '79. We are Family, and that crap.
This stuff can linger longer than it should.
I know being swept in the ALCS is not as traumatic as losing the WS when up 3-1 but the Royals were cocky, the Guthrie stuff was annoying and now they're more cocky and aggressive than ever.
Screw 'em.
Sure, it will probably go away, but they're definitely a team to root against right now.

Thats what I would go with. Yankees slightly ahead of Duke though. I have a little respect for coach K, and zero for anyone on the Yankees in my generation.

Ok, that's fair.
The Pirates thing still lingers from my 8 year old tears.

There is unconditional hatred, and then there's player-dependent hatred.
I have no issue with the Royals in general. I just can't stand the way the current members of their team carry themselves. Once those guys are gone I can't imagine I'll still dislike the Royals.
