BTW, I wish there was some really easy app or something where I could put in like 15-20 bands that I want to see live, and it'd alert me a week or two before tix go on sale. I hate having to manually check if bands are touring.

I thought Coheed's next album, the one with The Running Free whose name is escaping me at the moment, is their best.

 

That one's great too. Good Apollo I'm Burning just flows so well. Perfect song order. Plus I'm a sucker for their acoustic stuff.

Very understandable. His voice is definitely an acquired taste. It certainly isn't for everyone.

Hard to Earn is hands down my favorite rap album, ever.

 

I understand there are others that are more critically acclaimed, but for me, this is everything that rap was in one album.

Another music thread for Ricker

One of my little pet projects to eventually get around to is to rank my 100 favorite albums ever and then try to acquire each one in vinyl. This will not be an easy task as I haven't even ranked my top 10 favorite albums yet. I do, however, have a top 5, that I think is pretty set in stone.

1) Abbey Road - The Beatles
2) OK Computer - Radiohead
3) Bringing it all Back Home - Bob Dylan
4) The Beatles - The Beatles
5) Highway 61 Revisited - Bob Dylan

6-10 would feature some other Beatles, probably Blonde on Blonde or Blood on the Tracks by Dylan, maybe Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce, Let it Be by the Replacements, etc etc.

As you can see, this is a tough task.

My big problem is that I love -songs), and not so much albums. It's -really- hard for me to listen to an album, end-to-end, and love it. The top...er...7, I absolutely can, and it's a freefall after that. A lot of my favorite songs are early 90s, but they have some real duds in there, too, so the album sucks overall.

Random thoughts: England just voted Sgt. Peppers greatest album of all time across the pond....Doors are really good and LA Women is a masterpiece...Stones top 2 for me: England's Newest Hitmakers and Beggars Banquet...I often load in my CD on the road: Leann Rimes debut (amazing)...GHits by Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night, Yardbirds, Led Zep debut, Nazz, Notorious Byrd Brothers, Paul Revere GHits, Hollies GHits, vintage Dylan, anything Cream, Beatles For Sale....I dabble in antiques and in my travels seeing beat up Beatles albums going for $25!
