Billy Rowell always manages to push the limits of that belief, though. He has to be close to his six-year free agency, and the suspension and his place on the Aberdeen roster pretty much eliminates his ability to contribute this season, so at this point it might be for the best.

Performing poorly is one thing, testing positive for something and his overall attitude is another. Personally, I'll be glad when the O's are rid of him. Seems to me their are probably a lot of better people, not just better players, that are more deserving of his spot in the organization.
Good riddance.

I must say, I totally missed this was happening.
He is on Aberdeen's roster.
Here's hoping Mychal Givens follows his footsteps.

At some point, yes. RT @WarehouseWorthy: Should the O's consider having Mychal Givens give the mound a shot? Hitting poorly but still young
And some articles about him pre-'09 draft:
http://insider.espn....raft&id=3936445
http://insider.espn....raft&id=4021448
Takeaway - Through end of march in 2009:
4-1, 0.92 ERA, 38 IP, 24 Hits Allowed, 59 K, 8 BB
Scouting wise - mid-90s FB
And Klaw's pre-draft rankings (from early in the season):
http://insider.espn....raft&id=3919507
Interesting point there - Givens was ranked 14th, Hobgood was 27th.

I guess he isn't going to be the first player to hit the Warehouse.

He was taken ahead of Tim Lincecum and Max Scherzer - why is he not a super duper all-star by now?
Oh wait...it's because he has a bad attitude, apparently has a hard time taking care of himself (stoner), and never really refined his swing.

It's up there. I remember hearing after his suspension that it was coming at the end of the season.Least surprising move of the offseason? Surprised he lasted this long.
