I'm not a horse-racing guy, but I love watching the Triple Crown races.

While I will continue my 28-year streak of not attending the Preakness, I'll be watching close on TV. Rooting for I'll Have Another, whom I was rooting for in the Derby based entirely on a last-minute thought about how much I loved the name.

I"ll be there, but not to party..Tremendous money making opportunities all day.

Yep - sums it up for me too. Great name, and I love the triple crown.
Eventually I'd love to go to a preakness - I feel like if you live in this area it's a bucket list thing, and given all the issues Pimlico has, I should probably do it sooner than later. Maybe next year.

Did anyone else have Vinnie Barbarino flashbacks when reading that "milkshake" paragraph?
BTW, what a huge sports day for MD today. Preakness, Terps vs. Blue Jays followed by the Loyola game in Annapolis, and O's vs. Nats tonight in DC.

Yeah, I'd love to go. I just would hate dealing with the traffic, and I'm not the kind of personality that would enjoy myself on the infield.

What a great finish at the Preakness. I'll Have Another storms back on the final stretch to beat Bodemeister.
I just watched the race (anyone who didn't see it can watch it here - http://goo.gl/AzYYl) - What an amazing race. That ending was absolutely classic.
Definitely rooting for I'll Have Another to take down the Triple Crown in a couple weeks.

What a burst of speed to chase down Bodemeister, who, everyone says, is the superior horse!
The amazing thing to me is that I'll Have Another seems to be the type of horse who could win at Belmont. He doesn't jump out to a lead, then tire late. That would be Bodemeister. I'll Have Another just keeps close until he needs to put on his afterburners, and if he follows that plan again, he could actually take the Triple Crown.
It's been so long, we all kind of want it to happen already. I was 6 the last time it happened. It would be nice to see again now that I can appreciate it more.

I'm a little concerned that I'll Have Another might miss his buddy Bodemeister in the Belmont. I understand Baffert's decision to skip the race, and give Bode a little rest, but damn, I'd like to see round 3.
Yeah, that sucks. I mean, what is the worst-case scenario (well, other than the obvious one for horses--going out with a bang)? He loses close again to I'll Have Another, and Bodemeister becomes Alydar? As long as no one has to kill him for the insurance, there's a lot of money in being the runner-up to a Triple Crown-winning horse in all three races.

There's just so much money in breeding right now, that the don't want to risk any injury if they can somehow prevent it.
Sigh.

(Bet Twice was my favorite horse ever. And what an unbelievable year for horses that was, between Alysheba, Bet Twice, Cryptoclearance, and Gulch.)
