Would love to hear this story.

When Law recently said Bundy was being mishandled, someone on here linked to his comments.
I went on Twitter, and linked to the Bundy thread, and stated, "Keith Law says the O's are mishandling D.Bundy. Not sure I agree with approach, but mishandling is a strong term."

I RT'd the responses I received. I did not provide an endorsement either way. I did reply to a couple of people saying I was a fan (of Law), but did feel he had been overly snarky since LaCava backed out.

Law responded in a Tweet that my bias as an O's fan was clouding my judgement.

I sent him an email saying that could be correct. Telling him it is quite possible that he has shown no additional bias or snark towards the O's since LaCava pulled his name from the process. I told him that said, I did not believe he was aware of my own opinions, or if I even disagree with his typical perspective. (For the record, I find myself agreeing with him regularly, and told him so.)

I told him that I disagree with him about Bundy though, at-least with the word choice of him being 'mishandled.'
I told him if this offended him, he had my apologies.

Law responded to that and was not happy.

He said it was the worst accusation someone could throw at him, and that I did so without a shred of evidence. That it was easy for me to lob bombs like that in a world without consequences, but in his world, as someone who does this professionally, the consequences are real.

Ahh well.

What did you accuse of him of? Saying he had a bias bc of LaCava? Between that and the scouting changes( which probably effected people he knows), he clearly has said more about the os than he ever has. He may not be doing it on purpose but he is doing it.

Being overly snarky towards the O's since LaCava had backed out.

Law is a very strong analyst. I see some people don't respect his opinions. I do.

I also think he could be right that my bias to the O's has clouded my judgement / perceptions of Law being bit biased in some of his comments. I certainly respect his right to critique the O's... I've been doing it myself for years. Nobody has to remind me of the problems of this organization. I understand when someone is accurately stating things that are wrong.

I also know that Law has a bit of snark to everyone, and about everything. I just think that schtick went up a tick with the O's after LaCava. Several other people I respect in the game have perceived that as well, and have said as much to me directly in other messages I've exchanged.

I personally have no issue with Law.

I do think he misused his wording in his critique of Bundy and told him so.

While that exchange rubbed me the wrong way, I have no problem with him either. He does a lot of excellent reporting and analysis.

For the record, wouldn't every one of us have made the exact same comment? It's pretty funny, and based on the attendance, true.
