Ah, that's too bad. I was going to root for your horse Seth, now I'm back to not caring about horse racing.

Make A Mint Julep And Capture The Fake Majesty Of The Horse Track
I put at least twice the amount of mint leaves in there. There's really not enough of a taste difference between that and straight bourbon to merit the effort IMO. The only time I make them is when I run out of limes and have mint to use up.

Thanks, bud. He had an ankle injury a few weeks ago and is off the Triple Crown trail. He'd have probably been the second choice.

It was scratched a few weeks ago. The heavy fav is a lock to win place or show provided nothing disastrous happens
I'm going to try to beat him, I hate betting favorites. He could be a freak though, we'll see tomorrow..
The Derby is a different ballgame so to speak, none of these horses have ever run 1 1/4 miles, or against a field this size. California Chrome likes to be on the lead, and he won't get an easy one tomorrow.
i'm going to play a few closers and try to get lucky.

See above..
Though I've watched all the races today, and it's been a speed favoring track (layman's terms, horses on or near the lead have had success today...I like three closers, so...)
We'll see.

Wildcat Red and Samraat as somewhat longer shots .
Chrome will be there unless he hits a lot of trouble and has an unlucky ride.

Like Intense Holliday as well.

I like Samraat a little as well, but left him off...My wife likes Wildcat Red, and she does know her stuff.
I just eliminated the favorite altogether, if he beats me, I'm ok with it. i'll just tip my cap and get ready for the Preakness.

Seriously, there's a horse in this race named Danza?

Wow, California Chrome really smoked them at the end.

The Kentucky Derby is like the NBA season: nothing matters until the end
Either someone's coming from the back to get the lead, or someone is pulling away in front.

That's an excellent horse. More deserving of the hype going forward than Orb last year.
Agreed.
No question the best horse won today. Not the strongest three year old crop this year...Look out for a horse called Bayern in the Preakness. Though California Chrome will probably be 2-5.

The trend of horses near the lead all day held up in the Derby for the most part...Commanding Curve was the only horse to come off the pace.
i handicapped it poorly considering the races all day.
Live and learn.
