I saw him with Wings in 1976 on the Wings Over America Tour at the old Capitol Center...

Looking at this thread, and wondering what became of "Markus".
Also, been obsessed with "Here, There, and Everywhere" lately.

I was there for the Billy Joel concert in 2019, they did a fantastic job putting it on. Sound was great on the floor.

Ringo Starr has two concerts in Baltimore at almost the same time as McCartney, on June 14 and 15, btw.

I noticed that. My best friend swears that he rather see Ringo than Paul.

I know these will be pricey, but do you have an idea on how pricey?

I don't know - I was wondering the same thing. I'm guessing pretty expensive, although hopefully there will be some sub-$100 seats somewhere. I'll check out the prices at 10am and let you know.

Looks like seats in the stands range from $69.50 to $249.50, and the field is $249.50 to $299.50. Then there are premium tickets which I assume cost a lot more. I think aisle seats cost $20 more. And then there are the service fees.

You can nitpick at a list like this... but on Rolling Stone's listing of the Top 500 albums ever... they have 5 of the Top 35.... that, plus their influence makes them hard to overrate.

Wings Over America Tour. May 15 & 16 1976 at the Capital Centre in Landover MD. I don't remember which date I went to. The interesting thing in that the ticket price, singular, was only 1 price and no reserved seating. Unlike today, Bands depended on records sale and prices were not that high for concerts. So a friend of mine and I arrived about 4 hours before the doors opened and it was packed. So we hung around 1 of the entrances and when the doors opened it was a mad dash to enter. Sorta like Black Friday at Walmart. We got seats on the floor in the middle, probably about 20 rows back.A good time was had by all.

I think it's important to view them in the context of where music was at when they we're a band. I'm talking about their first few boy band albums. They pushed the industry well beyond the tight borders of the 1960's. They found ways to make sounds that (once they were invented) synthesizers we're pre-programed to replicate. So I think it's easier for a young person to hear them for the first time today, and think, so... Because what they did has been so adopted by many genres, it no longer stands out as the mind-blowing creativity that it once was.

In keeping with the theme of this thread. Led Zeppelin were creative hacks who stole other people's music. They were 3 skilled session musicians and the singer had a note worthy voice. If only they could write original songs and make their own sound, I might have been able to get on board with the idea that they were "the greatest band ever" as so many people like to say.
