The Bucks have to find a way to keep him. He's the best thing that's happened to that franchise.
They can offer him more, and maybe he wants to be there.
But they can't make him stay if he doesn't want to be there. (Unknown what he wants.)

ESPN is reporting Giannis will be staying in Milwaukee, signing a 5-year/$228 million supermax contract.
Nice to see a small market team be able to hang on to a superstar player through his prime.

Good for the Bucks and good for Giannis. He is staying home, which is a rarity in today's NBA. The money is not bad either. He should be able to buy groceries.

I'm not a Bucks fan, but it's enough to make me root for them to win a title, just to validate Giannis' decision. Obviously those paychecks will serve as validation of their own. What I mean is that it would show that there are viable alternatives to the notion that if you are a Top 10 or so player, you have to leave town and team up with at least one other Top 10 guy while still in your prime if you ever want a ring.

The Hawks-Bucks series has been physical and the injuries are taking its tolls. I think the Bucks are in trouble without Giannis, but I thought the same thing about the Hawks without Young, so the next few games could be fun to watch.
Anyone have a finals of Hawks-Suns?
