The problem is I see people complaining about the lack of these 4th down conversions and the poor playcalling. Well, if the playcalling is really that poor then Harbaugh needs to start factoring that in when he makes his decisions. I mean I disagree that we should have went for it just based on game flow and game management. When you factor in that we've been stuffed a lot on short yardage situations all year ,and arguably the playcalling isn't good either, that's  more reason for me not to go for it.

I only got to the game with 7 minutes left in the fourth quarter due to a family engagement.

But based on everything I've read the Ravens game plan was a dome game plan and they failed to adjust in the first half.  Though that seems to always be a problem.  I do wish we had better game planners...

The savior was it stopped snowing and they were able to clean much of the field at halftime. It was less the adjustments as it was luck.  Almost everyone postgame talked about the poor 1st half conditions and lack of grip, footing, etc and here we are throwing it 22 times in the first half. Literally, trying to throw the game away. The gameplan was unacceptable in the first half IMO.

It sounds like it was.  Like has been said and I agree I don't think Harbaugh's strength lies in game plans and scheming.  I think he's a good leader and he holds this team together through times that lesser coaches would have seen their teams crumble during.  And that's all well and good.

But we still lose games that we're capable of winning due to gameplan and that is no doubt aggravating.

I finished watching the game on DVR. You could tell a huge difference in Flacco when the weather cleared up in the 4th quarter. All his balls had a nice spiral, throws pretty much on the money, zingging some of them in there. So grip had to have been a factor early on. I don't know why they throw it 22 times in those blizzard conditions, other than they can't run the ball well either. I feel confident in his ability in the dome next week.

Hard to take much away from the game though. However, snow or not, no excuse for Gerhart to truck over Daryl Smith and James ihedigbo in the open field on that TD run. The draw did it's job, faked Suggs and Brown out as they we're blitzing the QB. But the play should have been stopped when two guys hit him at the same time. I guess there's a reason why Gerhart was averaging 7.9 YPC.

Elam, well, what can you do. Steve Mariucci was taking about the weather, (pertaning to the Philly game, but still applies). He said that offensive players have a large advantage over the defenses in the cold and slippery conditions. The receiver knows he's going to break or cut his route and can control himself better, where as the defender has to react to it and do it quicker, usually resulting in the defender losing footing. Probably what happened to Elam, combined with him losing his snow virginity.

Pitta, hopefully knocked the rust off. A few drops, hit hard a few times, then found his groove.

Ray Rice had a nice little game with a 100+ total yards.

Arthur Brown didn't see the uptick in snaps some of us want to see. But he did show off his speed. He stopped Peterson short of the 1st down on that swing pass, then fell on his foot taking him out. I wonder if the outcome would have changed had Peterson played the whole game?
