Black Friday probably not a great day for sporting events... Verizon Center had a very late crowd and still has a bunch of empty seats for the Caps game which began at 5... Obviously Comcast is bare... students away, Holiday weekend, etc.
All true.
One of my favorite MD memories was the Black Friday game (and season opener) 20 yrs ago... Joe Smith and Keith Booth's first game, beating Georgetown.

Yeah, would be good to play Georgetown... but if they don't, I can't say I really care. That game though was great... I had gotten into MD the year before... Hipp, Rhodes, Simpkins, Lucas and their Freshman seasons...
Booth I had followed in his Senior year of HS at Dunbar... as they were traveling across the country.. Booth, his cousin Donta Bright (UMass and their great teams), and Michael Lloyd (Syracuse)... they were amazing (before teams like Oak Hill)...
Lot of hype with reason for the arrival of Booth and everything that meant to the MD program.... during the Summer though going into their (Booth and Smith's) Freshman season of College, I was going into my Freshman year of HS. I had told Rob before that game that I was hearing Smith was the player to watch... he was an unreal college player.

It's a huge opportunity. I'm not optimistic, but I think we'll have a chance at least.
Play defense throughout, get some early confidence... hopefully get into a transition game... good measuring stick.
