How whales made the evolutionary leap from land to sea.
I imagine there was a big splash involved.

A former manager at an Elkhart, Ind., Pizza Hut trying to give his employees some time off says he was fired for refusing to open the store on Thanksgiving, local CBS affiliate WSBT is reporting.
Tony Rohr, who started out at the pizza chain as a cook before working his way up to general manager, confronted his superiors after being told the store would need to be open on Thanksgiving.
In years past, Rohr said, Pizza Hut stores have been closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, according to Fox 8.
One of Rohr's bosses claimed that he quit, and being open on Thanksgiving wasn't an individual's decision — it was a company decision, according to WSBT.

People Beat Each Other Up Over Towels At Walmart On Black Friday
Black Friday was ridiculous this year, including at Walmart.
Walmart advertised low prices on TVs, laptops and kitchenware, but the store's best-selling item was ... towels.
Not only were people buying towels at Walmart, the Wall Street Journal's Tom Gara found that customers were turning violent to buy inexpensive ones.
Local Arkansas news sites reported that Walmart customers were, indeed, fighting each other over towels. "I saw one woman fighting over towels. Everybody just started going toward them," Walmart customer Droniqua Fisher told WMC-TV.

To be fair, they're probably pretty decent towels.
Only the best Uzbekistani cotton and Laotian craftsmanship.

Sometime in the not-too-distant future (5 or so years) this is how you will receive smaller packages you order from Amazon.

Yes, I watched Sixty Minutes, too
Seriously though, that is a pretty cool idea. I just hope I don't collide with one flying around in my jetpack.

It's a great idea, but I can't envision it being realistic anytime soon, especially having it even be affordable to boot. There are so many roadblocks to this that it hurts my head to think of them all. One, for instance, is that I have a few trees in my front yard, making it pretty impossible for that thing to land right on my door step.

It does say "Amazon Prime Air" on the drone, which means it would be one of a few options (and definitely makes me want to keep spending $80 a year ). I believe there was talk on the report of other possibilities (electric vehicles, etc.) for fast, local delivery.

Also, combining that with another recent Bezos acquisition, I would love to see one of those things buzzing down the street at 5 a.m. tossing out the Washington Post
