Maryland starts with beating Marist on Friday (the 22nd) at 4pm.

Maryland then plays the winner of Northern Iowa vs. Loyola Marymount Sunday at 7pm.

The Providence / Vanderbilt winner plays the winner of Morgan State / La Salle.

The Championship is Monday at 10pm.

Hypothetically, Maryland could play Morgan State in this tournament, and then play the Bears again at College Park on 11/29.

I hope MD plays well. Playing 3 games in 4 days could serve this team well. I'm obviously not confident, but I do think they can win this if they show up.

Would love to see them matchup against Vandy, have always respect what Kevin Stallings has done there.

Will Peters start at the 1?

He did against Abilene Christian. Didn't see the start tonight, but thought he started again. If he doesn't start, he will get the most minutes.

Maryland can lose any game outside of the opener, but anything less than winning the tournament should be considered a disappointment.

Pretty sure Dez started tonight, but they quickly handed it over to Roddy. Could be wrong though.

Yep, you are right... ESPN boxscore... Wells, Faust, Layman, Smotrycz, Cleare.

Gotta think they're going to roll with Peters moving forward. Will Knoche be on Sports Tonight this week? Would be a good question to ask him.

Nope... we will work to get Knoche on back down the road, but his Son's HS season is starting... and he won't be available for awhile.

The defense is going to be terrible anyway. I would go with Peters, Faust, Dez, Layman and Mitchell to start. Smo as the 6th man getting major minutes. Dodd needs to start getting some of Cleare's minutes, if for nothing else to see if he can be any kind of defensive presence.

I'm not going to assume a win over Marist.  I mean I certainly expect them to win, but I don't think it's a given.  We were down by 6 in the 2nd half against Abilene Christian, after all.

If they don't beat Marist by 35 points, they should immediately return home.

From WaPo:

Mark Turgeon: ‘There’s a good chance’ Roddy Peters will start at Paradise Jam

And while Turgeon wouldn’t fully commit to any tweaks for the Terps’ upcoming trip to the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands, he hinted strongly that freshman Roddy Peters could be elevated from the bench.

“Yeah, I’ve given it a lot of thought of starting Roddy,” Turgeon said Tuesday. “There’s a good chance. I think it helps Dez [Wells], I think it helps our team. He was pretty good. Pretty big environment. I thought he handled it great. He wasn’t scared of the moment and he’s getting better defensively.”

Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair

Marist is dreadful. Currently 0-4, they had the doors blown off by Providence by 45. The Friars will also be at the Jam this weekend and are in a similar to the Terps in that they are seen as an NCAA Bubble team.

UMD should make the finals with their match-ups and should win the whole thing but ----.

I'm just saying - Abilene Christian lost to Duquesne by 19, to St. Bonaventure by 28, and to Iowa by 62.  They did manage to come within 7 of TCU.

And they had a 6 point lead against MD with 12 minutes left in the game.

I agree that MD should blow Marist out.  But I'm not putting anything past this team right now.

If they don't handle Marist easily, I might cry.

Turge should have threatened his team to beat Oregon State, or they couldn't go to St. Thomas. This team doesn't deserve to go to St. Thomas.

Opening game vs. Marist is today at 4pm. The game is available on the CBS Sports Network if you get it... if not, regular radio and Sirius.

Not sure if CBS Sports network will be streaming it as well.
