Of course might not matter with the Pacers drawing OKC tonight.

ESPN: Marc Stein: Awards
I can see another Olajuwon/Robinson scenario playing out here assuming KD wins the MVP..
Quick backstory for those who don't know:
In 1995 David Robinson won the MVP... He was presented his award before Game 5 of the WEstern finals against the Rockets. Hakeem told his teammates as he watched the ceremony "That should be my MVP" or something like that..He went out that series and DESTROYED Robinson and the #6 seeded Rockets went on to win the series and the NBA title..
Now the difference here is that Durant deserves it this year, he's been amazing all year, and even the biggest LeBron fan is cool with this..But I can still see LeBron destroying everyone in the finals if both teams get there..
Here's the aforementioned Hakeem destruction in Game 5 of the WEstern Finals from 1995...most underrated player in my years of NBA watching..

Yep, Hakeem was a monster. Would have liked to have seen those Houston teams vs. the Bulls teams.

Indy has the tie breaker. It will be interesting to see how much OKC tries to win this game today.Indy and Miami both 54-26 now after Miami's loss to Atlanta last night. What is the tiebreaker in the NBA?
Of course might not matter with the Pacers drawing OKC tonight.

He was unreal, loved him.
Hadn't watched that video in a while, man, 5 minutes of awesomeness.

I lived in SA then and was there in person for Game 1. Robert Horry burying that jumper at the end of the game to win it pretty much set the tone in that series. Everyone thought the Spurs were back in it when they won Games 3 and 4 in Houston. But Hakeem would have none of that. That was Horry's first "Big Shot." He'd go on to make several more like that in his career, both against and for the Spurs.

It will also be interesting to see if Indy can win even if OKC doesn't try all that much.

The Spurs continue to be one of the more remarkable machines in all of sports -- I've never seen a franchise get written off more than these guys and they just continue to dominate. I've heard that Pop and Duncan are basically gonna get in a stare down and once one retires, the other is joining so it could be a harsh wake up in San Antonio when that happens.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Yep, and yet, they're rarely "the story" when it comes to NBA storylines.
Beyond impressive.

They're the Ravens of the NBA.
So... did the Heat truly concede the #1 seed tonight? Or were they trying, and the Wizards just took it to them? Didn't see any of the game, was surprised to see the score.
